ASD Support Circle - Harmony Haven
(10-Week Program) starting Sep 6st

Where young autistic minds connect, learn, and shine together

Being on the autism spectrum as a young person can feel confusing or lonely sometimes. Harmony Haven offers two specially designed programs for autistic children and young teens to make friends who understand them, learn helpful skills, and celebrate what makes them amazing and unique.

Little Harmony (Ages 6-10)

Fun, friendship, and feelings for our youngest participants

What makes Little Harmony special

Play-based learning

Everything happens through games, stories, and creative activities

Short, engaging sessions

1.5 hours perfect for young attention spans

Maximum 6 children

Small group ensures everyone feels included and heard

Sensory-friendly fun

Activities designed for sensitive eyes, ears, and bodies

 Your 10-Week Adventure

Week 1-2

Making New Friends: Meet your group friends through fun games and activities. Share your favourite toys, animals, or things you love. Create your special "comfort kit" and group rules together.

Week 3-4

Understanding Big Feelings: Learn to recognize different feelings and what they feel like in your body. Practice naming emotions and understanding that all feelings are okay.

Week 5-6

Calm and Happy Strategies: Discover cool ways to feel better when you're upset, excited, or worried. Create your personal toolbox of calming activities and sensory tools.

Week 7-8

Talking and Listening Magic: Practice using words, gestures, and pictures to tell people what you need. Learn how to be a good friend and listener in fun, interactive ways.

 Week 9

Friendship Fun: Practice playing together, sharing, taking turns, and solving small problems that friends sometimes have.

Week 10

Celebration & Graduation: Big party to celebrate all your new skills, friendships, and the amazing things that make you special!

Week 1-2

Finding Your Tribe: Meet your group and discover you're not alone. Share experiences about school, friendships, and what it's like being autistic in a neurotypical world.

Week 3-4

Understanding Your Amazing Autistic Brain: Learn about autism strengths, challenges, and why your brain works the way it does. Explore how autism affects everyone differently.

Week 5-6

Mastering Your Sensory World: Discover your sensory preferences, triggers, and regulation strategies. Create your personalized sensory toolkit for different situations.

Week 7-8

Communication & Self-Advocacy Champions: Practice explaining your needs to teachers, parents, and friends. Learn to ask for help and accommodations confidently without shame.

 Week 9

Friendship Skills & Social Navigation: Navigate the complex world of tween friendships, peer pressure, and social situations with practical strategies and role-playing.

Week 10

Future Planning & Celebration: Plan how to use your new skills moving forward, set personal goals, and celebrate your autism pride with a graduation ceremony!

Location: OneStep Wellbeing office or community venue

Growing Harmony (10-14 years)

Duration: 10 weeks, 2 hours per session

Group size: Maximum 8 participants

Focus: Identity, advocacy, peer relationships
